Lets talk TpT!

ree

I'm just beginning my journey with TpT for my new store, Miss Fred Music Ed. I set a goal to launch it on January 1st, 2024, with two products—one free and one paid—available by the end of the day. Prior to the launch, I diligently worked on creating products for the store, specifically units for a music appreciation course. Fortunately, I already had a substantial portion of the curriculum written. Unfortunately, as I soon as I got started, I already knew the design of my products needed a complete overhaul.

As I immersed myself in the world of TpT, I encountered numerous unfamiliar terms, such as SEO, Pinterest marketing, layouts, thumbnails, product previews, driving traffic, and growing bundles. These were aspects I had no idea were integral to the process. On January 1st, I dedicated a 12-hour day to the launch, meticulously fine-tuning the delivery of my product.

I sought feedback from a fellow music educator and had one of my former students complete a unit, timing herself to ensure it aligned with my philosophy of music education workload, a topic I'll cover into in a future blog post.

To put it simply, I am overwhelmed.

In my efforts to learn from others' mistakes, I've consumed numerous YouTube videos on TpT, particularly those focusing on "what I wish I knew before I started." It feels like I could already create a video of my own based on what I have learned this week!

Surprisingly, just five days later, I find myself managing a Pinterest account, writing a blog, creating a growing bundle, and creating videos on Instagram and TikTok. I acknowledge that there's a lot to learn, but in my initial five days on Teachers Pay Teachers, I've made...drumroll please... $22.35 and sold three units. It's a small success, but it's a gratifying start!!

Why am I putting in all this effort? I want to be able to look back and say that I approached it like an expert from the beginning. I aim to avoid learning the hard way; instead, I want to grow through the challenges. By pushing myself now, I hope to transform this venture into a future stream of passive income that demands less effort.

Stay tuned for insights, updates, and the highs and lows of my Teachers Pay Teachers journey! And if you feel so inclined, please check out my store!

Let's go!!!
